What’s Currently Under Development?

The launch represents the first stage of a broader international initiative.

Several key areas are being developed and expanded.

1. Expanding the Expert Community

International Potato Tour plans to invite additional specialists, verify professional profiles, and encourage cooperation between researchers, agricultural businesses, and industry organizations.

The objective is to create a diverse expert network covering the entire potato value chain.

2. Building a Global Company Directory

A dedicated company directory is being developed to feature potato growers, seed producers, processors, machinery manufacturers, technology providers, research institutions, and other industry organizations.

The directory is intended to make it easier for professionals to discover relevant companies and establish direct business connections.

3. Developing International Professional Groups

The platform is expanding its thematic and country-based professional groups.

These communities are intended to facilitate discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among specialists working in similar fields or geographic markets.

4. Improving Multilingual Communication

Further development will focus on translating professional publications, job opportunities, and community content.

Special attention will be given to accurate technical terminology used in potato breeding, crop protection, storage, processing, and international trade.

5. Automating News and Communications

The project is developing additional tools to integrate Potatoes.News with the community platform.

These include automated content updates, improved information distribution, and member notification workflows.

The goal is to make relevant industry information more accessible without unnecessarily duplicating content.

6. Expanding International Potato Tour Programs

The project plans to organize more international delegations, technical visits, meetings with growers, visits to processing facilities, and participation in industry exhibitions.

These initiatives aim to connect online networking with practical face-to-face cooperation.

7. Improving Registration and Professional Verification

The membership system is undergoing further development.

Planned improvements include invitation workflows, professional identity verification, data protection procedures, and differentiated access to community features.

These functions will be implemented progressively as technical and operational testing is completed.

Why Does the Potato Industry Need a Global Professional Community?

The potato industry brings together a wide range of professional disciplines, from breeding and cultivation to storage, processing, logistics, and international trade.

Yet industry professionals from different countries do not always have easy opportunities to communicate directly.

International Potato Tour aims to help bridge that gap.

The project combines three complementary elements:

  • Industry journalism and information, par Potatoes.News.
  • Professional networking and knowledge exchange, through the International Potato Tour community.
  • Practical business cooperation, through partnerships, investment opportunities, employment, and international industry visits.

This approach creates opportunities for technology exchange, joint research, business development, innovation, and stronger international professional relationships.

The long-term ambition is to build an interconnected global network where knowledge, experience, and commercial opportunities can move more freely across borders.

Join the International Potato Tour Community

International Potato Tour welcomes potato industry professionals from around the world.

Potato growers, seed producers, processors, researchers, agronomists, machinery and technology suppliers, investors, consultants, and industry organizations are invited to participate.

Professionals can apply for membership, explore published resources, and contribute to the development of the network.

Join International Potato Tour and help build a more connected global potato industry.
